With a Christian Education Committee as their guide, GBCA comes alongside the parents to nurture and support the young people as they mature in their Christian walk.
On Sunday mornings the familes worship together, then students are instructed at their appropriate levels for best understanding.
On Wednesday nights young students attend classes, and youth begin training in specific ministries for service today and tomorrow. As they continue to grow, they are encouraged to take positions of service in the church body and leadership among their peers.
There are good doses of fun for all ages, and youth fellowships include Bible study, application, and service. They grow at home, in the Aiken community, in different states, and even in other countries.
You are welcome to review our program and visit our family any time!
STUDENT MINISTRIES STATEMENT OF PURPOSE 1. Our mission is to provide the Aiken area with a relevant and credible example of Christian young people through their speech, life, love, faith, and purity (1 Timothy 4:12). 2. Our vision is to set a Biblical standard and provide a model for those who need and desire to develop a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. 3. Our Commitment is to fulfill our mission to the world by keeping as our prime focus the following four goals: G - Glorifying God B - Bringing Others to Christ C - Challenging Christians to Spiritual Growth A - Around Aiken and the World
ACHIEVING THE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The Statement of Purpose is accomplished through activities and teaching on the following four levels: 1. Outreach - Come and See invites the curious, fun seekers, and unbeleivers. We extend fellowhip and evangelism through concerts, Sunday school, retreats, recreation, and camps. 2. Growth - Come and Grow reaches believers and the convinced with small groups, camps, retreats, Sunday school, and Sunday evening classes. 3. Ministry Training - Come and Serve encourages believers, the committed, and servants. Activities include Servants r Us, Timothy Teams, mission trips, Praise Band, retreats, and choir. 4. Leadership Training - Shepherd the Flock guides mature believers with camps, Timothy Teams, mission trips, retreats, and mentoring.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES 1. Servants r Us is a year-round ministry that is open to students and adult leaders. As needs arise in our church family and the community such as yard work, home maintenance, and fund raising; youth are given the opportunity to serve free of charge. Any donations for service are applied to youth mission trips, camps, etc. 2. Timothy Teams are teams of GBCA students and leaders who minister to others through their God-given talents and service. They provide outreach in settings such as parks, nursing homes, and church. Currently the Gospel is communicated through puppets, drama, interpretive hand movement, clowns, ballooning, and praise and worhip. Team goals include the following: Positive models (1 Timothy 4:12) Refreshment and encouragement (Philemon 7 and Acts 11:23-24) Positive relationships (1 Thessalonians 2:7-9 and Acts 7:26) Commitment (2 Corinthians 5:19-20)
